Meet Phyllis Solomon

"I've been called an entrepreneur by my children.  So I looked it up.  If I am 'one who organizes, manages, assumes the risk of running a business or enterprise,' they're right!  I do all of those things!"  But even though she's been organizing, managing and risking for over 20 years, PHYLLIS SOLOMON also "managed" to raise three children who, in turn, employed an enterprise of their own and produced five grandchildren.

Owner, founder and president of PHYLLIS SOLOMON EXECUTIVE SEARCH, INC., MS. SOLOMON entered the employment arena in 1977 with what was then VIP Executive Personnel, Inc. It was her high visibility and recognition in the marketplace that clients constantly urged her to put the company in her own name.  But it was in the beginning with the development of a health care marketing desk, she soon was able to employ trained personnel who were to become the best in the business.  While her competitors literally saw "red," the PHYLLIS SOLOMON enterprise grew, flourished and operated in businesses' favorite color, "black!"  The fledgling finding firm became one of the most respected and prestigious companies in the quad-state, national and international arenas.

It was PHYLLIS SOLOMON who originated the slogan "Partners for Success."  By working in tandem with the client, she has established a relationship that represents both financial and mutual admiration.  Her knowledge of the market and its demands evolved from continuous exploration into the client's needs of what, when, where and most importantly who.  Drawing from her marketing experience, she not only departmentalized her agency, she personalized and stylized it.  "It's the individual who counts ... whether it be a corporate client or a woman rejoining the work force.  Each deserves and should have personal and professional attention."  And to respond to that credo, PHYLLIS SOLOMON has staffed the agency with specialized consultants, practitioners of their respective fields of expertise.  It is not just the prospective client/applicant who is screened by MS. With headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey one would think that MS. SOLOMON has enough to occupy her time and energy.  One would think so, but not Phyllis. Honored with the Walter D. Head Award from the Englewood Cliffs Rotary, of which she is past president, she was named Rotarian of the Year 1995-1996 and was Trustee for the Walter D. Head Foundation.  Phyllis is also a past president of the New Jersey Staffing Association.  Her various awards include listings in "Who's Who of American Women," "Who's Who in Professional and Executive Women," and "Who's Who - Women in Business."  She has further been associated with the Boy Scouts of America and the American Heart Association.
